Creative Portland has launched the Portland Arts Challenge, a new program that incites people to discover the variety of arts and culture happening in the city. Participants sign up online, form a 6-person team, and compete for prizes by attending Portland-based arts and cultural events between March 1 – 26, 2016. Winners will be announced at Creative Portland’s 2 Degrees Portland Arts Challenge wrap-up event on Wednesday, March 30 at The Press Hotel at 119 Exchange Street in Portland.
“The Portland Arts Challenge is about building relationships with your neighbors, discovering Portland’s varied arts scene, and having fun as winter comes to a close,” said Jess Lauren Lipton, Creative Portland’s program manager for the 2 Degrees Portland network. “The team that attends the most events will be crowned ‘Portland Arts Champions’ and win some great prizes.”
Participation in the Portland Arts Challenge is free and open to the public. Participants are responsible for any ticket or entrance fees. A calendar of events is available online, and many events are free of charge. Participants will receive daily emails reminding them of event options. At least two members of a team must attend an event to earn points, which will be tracked by posting a photo to the Portland Arts Challenge Facebook event page.
