I train innovative entrepreneurs and help them connect to succeed.

Job Executive Director / Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development

Lives In Falmouth

I've been Executive Director of the Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development since October 2010. I'm also Vice Chair of the Maine Angels (based in Portland) and have taught Innovation Engineering at USM. Previously I was Research Partner for Accel Partners ('86-'97), then moved to Maine and built the largest source of a cappella music in the world in Southwest Harbor ('92-'07).

MCED is located at the Casco Bay Tech Hub, home of the monthly Portland PubHub that brings together Portland area entrepreneurs. At MCED I oversee our Top Gun entrepreneurship acceleration track, including an online class that I teach, so I work with more than 100 entrepreneurs across the state every year, about 30-40 from greater Portland. I'm also heavily connected to all things entrepreneurial including Startup Weekend Portland Maine, Grow Portland, Startup Portland, Maine Angels, Maine Technology Institute, PubHub, Blackstone Accelerates Growth, several college entrepreneurship efforts including the new USM entrepreneur club in Portland, and my wife's program for kids, Build-A-Biz.

I used to sing with and direct a cappella groups. Now I sing Sinatra and the great American songbook, including an occasional guest gig at Gingko Blue in Portland.
