An introductory black-and-white still photography course that covers the fundamentals of 35mm photography. Emphasis on camera handling and operation, film processing, darkroom printing techniques, and the aesthetics of photographic vision. Geared toward the novice, but open to those with previous experience.

Faculty:
Thurston Howes received an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and is known for documentary, environmental portrait, studio, corporate, and advertising photography. Thurston is a socially concerned visionary. His work has been featured in many national and international fine art exhibitions as well as several feature films. His photography has also been in a one-man show at the Southeastern Center of Contemporary Art as well as in numerous private and corporate collections. www.thurstonhowes.com
