Maine Irish Heritage Center presents John & Francis Ford Film Festival - Opening Night as they kick off a weekend of activities celebrating John and Francis Ford, two Irish American brothers from Maine with an outsized influence on Hollywood. Opening Night begins at 7pm with welcome remarks by Dan Ford and Joseph McBride, followed by a presentation of the winner of the MFA/PMA Silent Film Contest.  

The evening will also include the Premiere of When The Tables Turned (1911), starring Francis Ford, newly restored from a 35mm original in the archives of the EYE Film Institute Nederland. The film will be introduced by Francis Ford Expert, Kathryn Fuller-Seeley. Followed by a screening of Wagon Master (1950) directed by John Ford, starring Ben Johnson, Harry Carey Jr., and Ward Bond.

PLEASE NOTE- There will be a 5pm Welcome Reception at the State Theatre for All Access and Friends of the Festival Pass holders. Depending on availability, Reception-only passes may be made available in the week leading up to the festival but cannot be guaranteed.
