The Maine Crime Wave is a conference celebrating crime, mystery, thriller, and related novels.

The 2024 Maine Crime Wave will be an evening plus a full day of panels, a keynote talk, book signings, a contest, and much more on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15 on the USM Campus in Portland. Please see below for more information and registration. 

On Friday, June 14th, doors open at 5 PM with free appetizers, a cash bar, and book signing. At 5:45 PM, we will give this year’s Maine CrimeMaster Award to NYT Bestselling Author Michael Koryta, followed by a conversation between Koryta and book reviewer Katrina Niidas Holm. Stephen King calls Koryta "a master," and Michael Connolly calls him "the best of the best." 

We are also happy to again offer the Darcy Scott Award for Young Mystery Writers, which provides a full scholarship to the Crime Wave plus a cash award to cover hotel and travel costs. Please see the link for full application and eligibility details.
