General Butch about town.

Engagement: not just about marriage anymore!

Why did you choose Portland? I wouldn't live anywhere else in Maine (and I'm a native Mainer.)

Who are Portlanders you admire and why? The faculty, staff, students and alumni at Maine College of Art. There is some amazing stuff happening here. Porteous is the homebase. Portland is the incubator. The rest of the world is the benefactor!

What do you like to do with out-of-towners? Depends on their interest, but food always is central to my Portland tours!

Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? Shay's in Monument square.

What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Nut free truffles at Dean's Sweets on Middle Street. I have a nut allergy. Seen the NONUTZ plate? That's me!

What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? Rosie's on Fore Street. Place is a gem!

Describe your perfect night—and the following morning—in Portland. Drinks at the Armory or Shay's, Dinner at the Grill Room, play at Portland Stage or film at the Nick, a little nosh or nightcap at the Chocolate Bar. The next day, brunch at the Corner Room.

Do you have a serendipity spot? Where do you always bump into good people? Always on Congress street!
