I make films.

Job Filmmaker / Last House Productions

Lives In West End

Portland based filmmaker and teacher. Founder of Last House productions, an independent film company that aspires to create filmic experiences that seek to transcend a tired cinematic language.

Why did you choose Portland? I was born and raised in Maine but chased my career all over the country. New York, LA, Boston. None of those places offered me the quality of life that Portland does. Here, creativity thrives on the fact that the we are 20 minutes from the ocean, the river, the lake and the hills.

Who are Portlanders you admire and why? Most of the artists here make art to make it. Not to make money doing it.

What do you like to do with out-of-towners? It depends on what they're hungry for!

Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? Two Lights State Park.

What's the most surprising thing about this city? Portland needs a place for aspiring filmmakers to study. None of the schools here offer film programs. Also, a vegetarian comfort food restaurant.

What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Gin Martinis at anyplace that makes them cold enough.

What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? The Portland room in the Library. Research oasis.
