Dumpster Diving to Make Portland More Sustainable

Job Brand Ambassador / We Compost It!

Lives In Westbrook

I don't exactly dumpster dive but now that I've caught your attention... I work in marketing for We Compost It! a Maine startup that is tackling pollution and landfills one dumpster at a time. We help businesses and residents stop wasting food and organic materials through a curbside collection program.

In my free time I'm ridiculously thrifty and you'll find me spending time searching through the racks at antique shops and thrift stores. Who doesn't love Goodwill?

I'm fortunate enough that except for a two year stint spent in Fairbanks, AK Southern Maine has always been home.

Why did you choose Portland? While the restaurants and great way of life speak to me, I've gone where the work is good. Luckily for me this time I didn't have to choose.

Who are Portlanders you admire and why? Entrepreneurs. They make such huge sacrifices often in the name of making the community better.

What's the most surprising thing about this city? Portland has a city feel. There are great restaurants and lots of things to do. In reality, it's just a big small town. I love that there really are only 2 degrees of separation in this city!

What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Tony's Donuts.

What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? Having little to no commute time after work.
