I run with artists and work to keep them doing what they love
Job artist studio director, artist / Running With Scissors
Lives In Cape Elizabeth
Many hats, many hopes.
I have worked in time worn book warehouses, esteemed private schools, assorted cafes, ceramic studios run by monks, print shops run by Northdakotans, neighborhoods filled with growth and potential, dirt floored African schools and now I work with awe - everyday - inside Portland's amazing artist community.
I have the disctinct pleasure of seeing the constant process of self and art creation that artists of all walks of life bring into their studios and into our community. I am humbled constantly by the bold and often brazen depths they dive to solve problems, answer questions, resolves conflict and carry out their wildest dreams.
I run Running With Scissors; artist studios and gallery with pride.
I hope you will visit us someday. Maybe even make it your home.
Why did you choose Portland? The open atmosphere in the art community - that and the fact that there is a coffee shop, ice cream parlor or bar on almost ever corner. What more does a girl need?
Who are Portlanders you admire and why? The ones who dare to live uniquely and boldly everyday.
Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? In my studio - or on the grassy knoll of the Eastern Prom.
What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Sushi - Yosaku. Hands down.
What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? How easy it is to get to 4 star dining, amazing theatrical and musical productions and walk almost everywhere.
I daydream and I create... painting, writing poetry, Maine and Portland are passions. I enjoy stories do you have a story to share?
