I write and I read and I love beautiful things.
Lives In Portland
I'm a writer and editor living in Portland. I spend my days hustling and freelancing (I write for Maine magazine, Maine Home+Design, Literary Traveler, and other places). I spend my nights looking for new art to adore, posting on my blog, writing silly fairy tales, and hanging out with my badass dogs.
Why did you choose Portland? I've always loved Maine, and when I got the chance to work in Portland, I jumped at it. I can't think of a better place to be a writer. It's beautiful and creative and often rather quiet. But never boring.
What do you like to do with out-of-towners? Get Po' Boys and Pickles and have a picnic in the park.
Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? The Blue Rooster Food Co. because nothing makes me smile like tater tot poutine.
What's the most surprising thing about this city? How much everyone seems to love dogs. I can take my dogs anywhere!
What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Pork buns at Pai Men Miyake.
What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? The street style.
Describe your perfect night—and the following morning—in Portland. Catching a show at the State Theatre (ideally, the Avett Brothers will come to town), followed by drinks at LFK. Next morning, brunch at Sonny's before driving out to Mackworth Island to take my dog Deja for a walk.
Do you have a serendipity spot? Where do you always bump into good people? Arabica
I use my twin identity as an artist and writer to create work for commercial and editorial clients.
