Job Content & Creative Director / Helm Digital
Lives In Falmouth
Helm Digital provides integrated marketing solutions to like-minded partners who value relationships and enjoy working with other good people. As Content & Creative Director, I'm responsible for creative direction and overseeing content creation, design, and photography. I love collaborating with designers, artists, photographers, and writers to tell clients’ stories.
I began my career writing about design and architecture at an architectural/engineering firm in New York City. After that I worked as Associate Editor of an architectural lighting magazine before moving to Portland in 2008, where I worked for almost a decade at Maine Home+Design and Maine magazines, culminating in a position as Editor-in-Chief.
My freelance work has included publications like Conde Nast Traveler, Metro New York, and Forbes Travel Guide. Today, I am half of the team behind the blog The Mainers, along with photographer Erin Little. I live in Falmouth with my husband and business partner, Helm founder Steve Pogson, and our two kids.
Why did you choose Portland? My now-husband and I were living in New York City and looking for a change of lifestyle, one that included a close-knit community, creative culture, some breathing room, and the ocean. We picked three different cities we thought might meet this criteria. Portland was our first stop--and our last. We moved here in 2008, on the first day of winter. A massive blizzard welcomed us and we've never looked back.
